Queensland Accreditation

Level 3 Residential Services Regulation 2018

Understanding our commitment to regulatory compliance and your protection. We're proud to meet and exceed Queensland's highest standards for supported accommodation.

What Is It?

Understanding Queensland's accreditation framework

The Regulation

A Queensland Government regulation that sets standards for supported accommodation services, including personal care of an incidental or occasional nature. Where residents require daily personal care, these supports are delivered by a separate NDIS-registered provider such as INREACH Supports, in line with the regulatory framework.

It ensures providers meet specific safety, wellbeing, and administrative benchmarks to protect the rights of residents.

Why It Matters

Compliance: Accredited providers like CCAL must meet these standards to operate legally.

Resident Protection: The regulation addresses critical areas—staff qualifications, personal care delivery, health and safety, medication support, financial handling, and more—so residents and families can trust in the facility's oversight.

Choice & Autonomy: It encourages independence for residents, emphasizing dignity, privacy, and autonomy in lifestyle choices.

Key Areas Covered

Comprehensive standards ensuring quality care and resident protection

Staff Training & Qualifications

Personnel must hold current First Aid and CPR certifications, ensuring prompt emergency response.

Delivery of Personal Care

Under Queensland's framework, regular or daily personal care must be provided by an NDIS-registered provider, ensuring appropriate oversight and compliance with disability service standards. CCAL facilitates access to personal care provided by external NDIS providers.

Resident's Financial Affairs

Residents manage their finances where possible, or involve an external representative if needed.

Medication Management

Staff who assist with medication must hold a current certificate in "HLTHPS006 – Assist Clients with Medication" issued by a registered training organisation, as required by Queensland Residential Services (Accreditation) Regulation 2018. Medication is administered according to strict procedures with clear record keeping, ensuring resident safety and compliance.

Health & Hygiene Standards

Emphasizes proper hygiene, plus physical and mental health support.

Social Networks & Lifestyle Choice

Upholds family ties and community involvement, preserving resident autonomy.

How CCAL Aligns

Our commitment to meeting and exceeding regulatory standards

Where residents are NDIS participants, our collaboration with INREACH Supports and other registered providers ensures alignment not only with Residential Services requirements, but also with relevant NDIS Practice Standards.

Accredited Operations

We regularly review our policies to remain compliant with Queensland's accreditation requirements, ensuring that we uphold the latest standards.

Integrated Personal Care

For new admissions from January 2025, personal care is delivered through our integrated model with INREACH Supports onsite. This ensures consistent, reliable support that aligns with both Queensland regulations and NDIS Practice Standards.

Financial Transparency

Residents handle their own finances or designate an external party; CCAL only offers clerical assistance upon request, keeping records transparent and protecting your autonomy.

Staff Competency

Our staff maintain up-to-date First Aid and CPR certifications, meeting core safety requirements for emergency readiness and proper care.

Medication Training

Where staff are involved in assisting with medication, they must also hold a current nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTHPS006 – Assist Clients with Medication, with certificate records maintained on file. This ensures compliance with Queensland requirements and promotes safe, high-quality medication assistance.

Resident-Centric Approach

We champion dignity, privacy, and freedom of choice—core pillars of the regulation. Everything we do is designed to foster independence while providing the support you need.
